Adobe's Firefly Generative AI Gets Video Creation Capability
New Firefly plans offer access to this commercially safe video generative AI, as well as translation and 3D imaging.

Adobe today announced the availability of the Firefly Video Model in public beta, which allows users to generate video content from text prompts or existing images.
The company claims that it’s the only commercially safe option—that is, it doesn’t violate any intellectual property rights, so companies can use it without fear of being sued. Adobe also announced new Firefly plans that include not only this video-generation capability, but also the updated web app’s other tools such as image generation, vector generation, 3D image editing, and the also-new audio and video translation tools.
Adobe has expanded its Firefly generative AI capabilities to include video creation, introducing new features that allow users to generate videos from text and image prompts. This development enables the transformation of ideas into video clips, animations, or visual effects through Text to Video and Image to Video functionalities.
Key Features of Firefly's Video Generation:
Text to Video: Users can create 1080p videos up to 5 seconds in duration using natural language prompts. This feature also allows the import of start and end keyframes to guide motion or movement, along with options for shot sizes, camera angles, and motion presets.
Image to Video: This functionality enables the generation of video content based on reference images, allowing for the creation of animations or visual effects that align with the provided imagery.
Adobe emphasizes that Firefly's AI models are trained on licensed content, ensuring the generated videos are commercially safe and free from copyright infringements.
The Firefly Video Model is currently available in public beta and integrates with Adobe's Creative Cloud tools, offering creative professionals enhanced control and efficiency in video production.
